Symbio

As part of our geography unit ‘People Live In Places’ and linked to our science unit on ‘Living Things’ from earlier in the year, Kindergarten students along with PK, will be attending an excursion to Symbio Wildlife Park in Helensburgh.

This excursion provides our students with a fun, hands-on experience to discover the importance of different places to people and living things. During this exciting day, students embark on guided tours observing both native and exotic animals and their environments. Through integrated learning experiences, students investigate ways in which people interact with and care for places whilst identifying their natural and human features. With a focus on the importance of looking after different environments, they will discover the varying connections of special places for different people and animals whilst getting up close and personal with some furry and scaly friends.

The excursion will be in Week 9, on Monday 12th September, 2022.

Cost: $38.00 (covers entry fee, guided tours and bus ride).

COVID requirement: As a COVID safety measure, please RAT test your child on the morning of the excursion to support the safety of everyone on the excursion.

Time of Departure:

Your child must be at school no later than 8:30am on the day of the excursion. We are departing at 8:45am.  Children will assemble in the area outside of the Kindergarten classrooms. 

What to Wear:

Students must be dressed in full sport uniform with sensible walking shoes and socks. All students must have a school hat. If it is a hot day please remember to put on sunscreen before the students come to school.

What to pack:

Students should bring their recess and lunch in a small backpack. 2 drinks (bottles of water or juice poppers) are recommended as well as a couple of tissues.

Label Everything!

Label lunches, drinks, clothing, hats, backpacks etc. with a permanent marker.

Money payment and permission note:

Please return the permission slip with payment as soon as possible to your child’s class teacher, no later than Monday 5^th September. If you have any questions please see your child’s class teacher.

If your child is sick on the day please note that the money for the bus will not be refunded. If you have concerns in making payment for this excursion, please contact Mr Lie to discuss how we can support your child’s attendance of this event.
